The Quote Hoarder: On Applause and Ovations

The Quote Hoarder is a series of posts where I share some of my favorite quotes from different books, manga, anime or tv series.

I first discovered this quote on reviewkingdomblog when he reviewed the book. It had made such an impact that I never forgot about it, and now I’m wondering if it will do the same for who might be reading this…

It’s beautiful to think that I might get a standing ovation even just once in my life. I wonder how that would feel? But as a regular gal I think that’s highly unlikely, and so instead of a standing ovation I will settle for the simple things like a pat on the back, or even a “good job”, “you’re doing amazing”, and the clincher “I’m proud of you.”

It’ll be a miniseries of ovations and it will be collected and safely stored until it becomes a standing ovation in my heart.

Here on the blogosphere we even have our own system of mini ovations. A like or a thumbs up, a comment to appreciate one’s effort, or even a supportive and helpful ping-back to a post. They do wonder not only for the blogger’s self-confidence but also for the person behind the blog.

You never know you’re already contributing to one’s standing ovation so give the love around and for sure it’ll come back to you!
