September Start: Tuesday Prompt Saved The Day!

Hello!

Though I still consider myself in the middle of my slump but as the BER months started, I am also in the process of restarting this neglected blog. What great fortune it is that September started on a Tuesday and this prompt saved lil’ old me from thinking too deeply on what to ramble on about.

Top 5 Tuesday. Originally created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm. Hosted by Meeghan reads.

This Tuesday’s prompt is about our FAVOURITE CHARACTERS but with a twist. We’re doing it alphabetically, which means characters whose names start with letters of the alphabet from A to E (and the rest will be for the succeeding prompts for September). Want to know what the future topics will be? Check out Meeghan’s post as she is the host for T5T. Feel free to join in on the fun and let’s get posting!

Not necessarily the ultimate favorites but they are the first ones to pop into my head when I was thinking about this prompt.

AMREN

Book series: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

She is vain, cunning, temperamental, a hoarder of priceless baubles and an extremely powerful creature of unknown origins. But once you are part of her crew she will protect you even if she had to sacrifice herself. Oh, and she also drinks blood. Cool girl right?

BAKUGO

Manga/Anime: Boku no Hero Academia

The obnoxiously loud and super temperamental Katsuki Bakugo. His explosive personality is what you will first notice and his aggressiveness in almost all aspects of his life. He appeared to be an unlikable character at first but as the series progresses you start noticing that this character is not as simple as he appeared. He might have been known for his explosives and loudness but it is his quieter moments one must pay attention to. He might always want to win and become the best but it is not without effort. Surprisingly he is on the top three of his grade and considered to be intelligent and able to read a situation well. His shitty personality might need some tweaking but that’s not all there is to this hero in training.

CHIHAYA

Manga/Anime: Chihayafuru

Chihaya is a tomboyish, outgoing and ambitious girl who does not do well academically but is incredibly passionate about Karuta. She can be generally absent-minded or oblivious towards her surroundings and feelings of others which can be irritating at times but her single minded focus on her craft makes me admire her too. She is also extremely competitive towards anyone who excels in Karuta. She aims for the top and is unwavering in her dedication to get there.

DONGHUA DIJUN

Three Lives Three Worlds, The Pillow Book / Eternal Love of Dream

I have to admit I am obsessed with this series. I read the novels and watched the drama and then rinse repeat – reread and rewatched. That’s how crazy I was about this one. I am absolutely a Donghua Dijun fangirl. Who wouldn’t be if the subject is the former emperor of the heavens, one of the ancient deities born from nothingness when the world was chaos. He fought for hundreds of thousands of years to bring peace to the Nine Kingdoms and then retired to become an idle god but still a highly respected one. He may be heartless and unfathomable deity as he had existed for quite a long time and is now just drifting through his existence but it all changed when he met his Xiao Bai.

EMMA CARSTAIRS

Book Series: The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare

Emma is passionate about fighting, training and killing demons. A fierce warrior and a filial daughter who is driven into training hard because she wants to avenge the death of her parents. She is also quite sarcastic and has a temper when provoked.

She is incredibly driven and she is considered as the best Shadowhunter of her generation because of her superior skills as a result of her relentless training. She can be reckless and has a tendency to jump into danger willingly. She is unwavering in her loyalty and her protection of those she loves.

And that’s it for this Top 5 Tuesday post. Feel free to share yours below if you’re also participating in this meme.

Thanks for reading!

  1. It’s so awesome to see you posting again!😀😀 Glad to have you back here! Just take it easy, and don’t feel any pressure! This was a great first post though! I have to admit…except for Bakugo I don’t know any of these characters (yes…I know…that’s horrible😅😅😅), but I definitely enjoyed reading about them. Out of all these I like Emma Carstairs the best, she sounds both dangerous and intriguing! 😃😃

  2. Cool that you put in Anime/Manga characters. ;.)
BTW, what do you mean with “a filial daughter”? Does the word “filial” have some other meaning to you, because in my vocabulary it’s like saying “a canine dog”. I’m not trying to be mean or stupid, I just don’t understand.

    1. Thanks!

The definition of filial in mine is something due to a parent from a child. So being a filial daughter she’s fulfilling her due to her parents by avenging their deaths.
