The Sleeping Beauty Book Tag: Fae & Shadowhunter Special

I was looking for sleeping beauty quotes to fit the occasion and I definitely laughed out loud because this one did:

“It’s incredible, sixteen years and not a trace of her! She couldn’t have vanished into thin air. Are you sure you searched everywhere?”

I have been on quite a long break and I count my blessings as I haven’t vanished into thin air yet.

This post has been sitting in the drafts for so long now I’m actually dumbfounded why I didn’t post it sooner. I’ve been tagged by Sven over at Review Kingdom Blog. Go check out his blog and you’ll find why it’s called the Review Kingdom.

Sleeping Beauty | A Main / Title Character Who is Overshadowed by Others

giphy

Aelin in the Throne of Glass series is definitely an interesting character and I love her but when Manon appeared it was a hard choice between two badass females and I would sometimes look forward to the latter’s scenes more, probably due to the novelty she provided.

Prince Phillip | Name a Character You Would Slay a Dragon For

I’ll slay a dragon (even if that would break my heart because – dragons!) for the Herondale family in Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter universe. James, Lucie, Will and even for Jem too.

Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather | Your Favourite Fictional Dysfunctional Family

The Shadowhunter Family. I mean Lightwood, Herondale, Carstairs, and Blackthorns. That is one tangled web of bloodlines and great, great ancestors. I mean sure we ship some of them together but they’re basically a tiny percent related to one another. With The Last Hours series coming up, I have to update my mental ancestral tree of the lot.

Maleficent | Name a Villain You Can Relate to (I mean, I might curse a few people for not inviting ME to a party)

I mean I don’t actually relate to Jonathan Morgenstern from the Mortal Instruments series but I actually sort of understand how he became the way he is. There was already his nature, him being born part demon through his father’s experiments –which is ultimately a mark against him in that world– but the most crucial part is in how he was nurtured by his psychopath father who is definitely the villain in his story.

Briar Rose | A Book/Character Whose Name Confuses You/You Always Mess Up

Feyre. I did not know I was pronouncing her name wrong in my head all this time. Now that I’m rereading A Court of Thorns and Roses series I’m like who is this Fay-ruh.

Once Upon a Dream | A Book That Gave You Deja Vu (♪♫♬ I know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam ♪♫♬)

A Court of Thorns and Roses which exuded that Beauty and the Beast setting with the cursed characters living in a palace and a girl who might actually free them from the curse.

Blue Vs. Pink | A Character Who Can’t Make Up Their Mind

Lucien in ACOTAR series seemed like a character who is always caught between two choices. He would be in constant agony on what he should be doing and what he was ordered to do. In the end, even I can’t decide if I like him or not.

Sleeping Spindle aka Fulfillment of the Curse | Name a Book That Turned Out Exactly How You Thought It Would Be (Good or Bad)

Tower of Dawn is one book I knew I would not like because I didn’t like the character featured most heavily in this installment. I was right about that part but there were also some pleasant surprises along the way.

Kingdom of Ash turned out to be more than what I expected and it was an epic read. Considering the length of that book and several major players in the story, it was a feat in and of itself that I couldn’t put it down after I started reading. I had to know what happened to my favorite characters and if they all got what they deserved in the end. There were some hitches along the way but it turned out for the best.
