Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Couples from Books & Manga

“Whatever happened, I’d met my person, the one my soul connected to.” ― Kiera Cass

I don’t know what possessed me this Tuesday to make not just one but two lists! Book/Manga addled brain or too much coffee are two of the most likely reasons.

This Tuesday’s prompt is courtesy of That Artsy Reader Girl and I had to share my favorite couples. I just had to! There’s also that other list, Wit Beyond Measure is Ravenclaw’s Greatest Treasure: Top 5 Tuesday if you’re interested in reading.

So here lies my SHIPS:

Aelin Galathynius and Rowan Whitethorn aka “Fireheart and Buzzard”

 “To whatever end.”
A reminder—and a vow, more sacred than the wedding oaths they’d sworn on that ship. To walk this path together, back from the darkness of the iron coffin. To face what waited in Terrasen, ancient promises to the gods be damned.”

Feyre and Rhysand aka “High Couple of the Night Court”

“I looked ahead, toward that laugh, that light—and that vision of the future Feyre had shown me, more beautiful than anything I could have ever wished for—anything I had wished for, on those long-ago, solitary nights with only the stars for company. A dream still unanswered—but not forever.”

Kaz and Inej aka “The Deadly Duo” “ Inej & Kaz from Six of Crows I need Crooked Kingdom, RIGHT NOW

“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”

Hak and Yona aka “One Sided Love No More”

“I’m immortal. Actually, I can’t afford to die. I’ve got a troublesome princess to look after.”

Shirayuki and Zen Wistalia aka “The Perfect Match”

“Red is supposed to be the color of fate, right? Even if it’s annoying now, it might connect to something good when you least expect it.”

Hori Kyouko and Miyamura Izumi aka “High School Sweethearts”

“Everyone has a side of themselves they don’t want others to see.”

Kabakura Tarou & Koyanagi Hanako | Momose Narumi & Nifuji Hirotaka
aka “The Working OTAKUs”

“What if you just date someone who doesn’t mind that you are an otaku…”

Usui Takumi and Ayuzawa Misaki aka “The Power Couple”

“Walking along the path that she chose, without being affected by others… in this sense, white is her color…. in another sense, it also makes me want to put more colors on her”

Mamura Daiki and Yosano Suzume aka “The Shy Boy & Country Girl”

More than hurting myself, I found someone I did not wish to hurt at all costs.”

Narutaki Shinobu and Yoshimura Sayaka aka “The Lady and the Butler”

“We are closest to each other as if it’s second nature. He’s the person I’ve called out to the most. I’ve never had to give a name to our relationship.”

What more can I say? I love their love. I would explain in detail but I think reading the books and manga mentioned above could shed light as to why I love these couples. So go forth and read them all and let us fangirl together.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Looks like I have some fluff to read.

Oh, and I LOVE Horimiya………well, 2/3s of it. The latter third I just like.

I miss long-haired and glasses-wearing Izumi, who was cool and chill but still kind awkward. Now he’s ended up looking like every other pretty boy, but I know that Izumi is still deep down there.

    1. You only have to see his relationship with Shindou and know he’s definitely still in there LOL
The recent chapters focus more on other characters now though. 😥 I love em all but I want to see more hori and miyamura

  2. Of all the manga ones you mentioned, which one has the most angst but romantic conclusion/ending? I like angst with moments of fluff. I’m a sucker for it. Which one would you recommend me? 🙂

      1. Were you the one that got me into Midnight Secretary? I’m pretty sure it was you – I read all volumes in no time. The same author has some other series – one regarding a witch. It’s light with just a touch of angst. I love light reading, though. I often have to read for work so on my off time sometimes I just want to keep it light! Thanks for your suggestions – I will look into it! Right now I’m reading Toykyo Ghoul. It’s good but not that light.

        1. I think so? 😂 Good to know!
I highly recommend Akatsuki no Yona, Akagami no Shirayukihime and Noragami if you’re looking for more.
I read Attack on Titan so I’m not put off by dark and gritty ones but I didn’t enjoy Tokyo Ghoul and Re as much.
